A Nigerian dad has received appointment from Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state for denying his son entry into his home because he was returning from Lagos.
Mr Femi Adeoye, a resident of the state and a retired FRSC official attracted public interest for insisting that his son will not be allowed into his home unless he submits himself to NCDC officials of the state. He wanted his son should be quarantined for 14 days and tested for covid-19. He didn’t want his son to become a distributor of the disease in the state.
Governor Kayode Fayemi heard of it and was impresed by Mr Adeoye’s discipline, and on Thursday afternoon April 30, invited him to receive an appointment to be the COVID-19 Response Ambassador in Ekiti State.
This is impressive, but there could be many other sides to it. How many more appointments are available for more fathers and mothers ready to keep their children out of the house for fear of covid -19 spread or for hope of receiving appointment? Well, Mr Adeoye was not expecting that. It was only his contribution to saving lives in the pandemic. It’s good to do what is right even if no one is watching.
